5 Tips to Study Effectively from Home

“Home” a place where we don’t bother what worry means , it all feels like heaven, isn’t it? Being at home, you watch movies or TV shows, you cook a meal for yourself, groom yourself and manage other tasks of the day. This is the same story for all of us. We relax at home as there is no better place than this!

When it comes to studying from home, there is something that bothers you. It can be your homework, tuition work or self-study. At this time, when whole world is in a critical situation you might be studying from home.

It feels bored and restless all the time. Who want to study whole day? Do you? Of course not, you want to perform some activities that could make your mind busy.

To make your schedule flexible being at home, here are some tips for you-

Tip-1 Clean your study desk

Since you are allowing yourself to study hard, begin with clearing your nearby distractions. You can start by cleaning your study desk. A clean space keeps you focused in the subject you are studying. Remove everything that is not required on your study desk whether it is books, stationery items or anything else. It hardly takes an hour to complete cleaning.

Bring in positive energy by keeping an antique item that you like the most or your family/friends picture, your achievement certificate. In short, anything that motivates you. If you want, you can paste some of your favorite paintings, posters or charts in the wall to make it look interactive.

Tip-2 So what are you going to study today?

Well, this is an easy answer! Oh please don’t say nothing. LOL.

You might have some thoughts in your mind like to start from theoretical topic or concept-driven. Why don’t you quickly list them down? Ah ha, this will make the learning process easier for you.

Make two columns: Written and Learn

Written: If there is a lot of written work, you can start with that because it can include research. Therefore, you will tend to spend a lot of time doing that and you will not get time for short breaks.

Wait, what about the learning part? Isn’t there any tests? If not, continue writing your homework or plan to prepare for test first.

Remember, not to overburden yourself by studying for the whole day, you only have to spend 3 to 4 hours thoroughly revising the topic you have selected. It maybe possible that your study hours increase because of the test the next day but stay relax!

Tip-3 Make Music as your friend while Studying

You are listening to music and maybe you are doing it right now. We all love it, right? It gives you delight even more when you are studying. You can play a soft music in your smartphone or its great if you have speakers at home. You can listen to your favorite rhythm or a song you wanted to listen from a long time.

No, you don’t have to get along the flow of music and start singing/dancing in the room. You have to study, remember? Choose a song that does not distracts you but gives you peace.

Your mind should completely indulge in what you are learning at that particular time. It should not be in a navigation mode as to where you have to go on a holiday, what to wear on a Friday party; nothing. You have to bring it straight to your goal: STUDY

You can skip this tip if you don’t like to hear music during study time.

Tip-4 Don’t Sit on an Empty Stomach

We all make this mistake a hundred times still we go on studies even when we are hungry. Trust me, don’t ever do that. An empty stomach is a great source of distraction; you will continuously think of amazing meals you like to eat during the study time.

Don’t let that happen.

Yes, you can keep some snacks around you but a BIG NO to food at this time. Try this, before going for studies, eat something that could make your stomach happy. I am not asking for overeating or eating when you are not feeling to, you have to keep this in mind that your stomach is full before you touch your study desk!

Tip-5 Take a Full Night Sleep

You should sleep at least for eight hours at night. A night sleep is essential because it gives your mind a space to process the tasks such as digestion. Got it, you have to complete that webseries and how can you miss this call from your loved one? Well, try to skip these tasks and sleep.

Some of you are not in a habit to sleep early at night but if you will try you can see better results. You will notice a change in your mind your body. You will feel active all day.

If you sleep at noon, skip it; instead you can take a rest for sometime. Don’t sleep at this time as it will hamper your sleeping patterns at night and the next day you will feel restless and shall be unable to concentrate on studies.

I prefer self-study and so I have my home as a part of my everyday studies. I clean up my desk everyday, eat nutritious food and take a good sleep every night. All this gives me better results as my mind stays calm always and I properly pay attention towards my studies.
